Classroom Management at your fingertips

new

Dear Teacher,

If you are like most teachers, you are probably stressed with competing demands for your time. You get dozens of e-mails every day (many from parents who want to know how their kids are doing) and the administrative requirements of your job take you away from what you really like to do – teach!

Parent Teacher Communication.

How do teachers balance state requirements, No Child Left Behind mandates, and bulging classroom sizes that often require individualized study plans for each student?

How do you manage the needs of each student, deliver quality teaching, and still have a life at the end of the day?

"On a daily basis, I can send and collect assignments, grade and return work, send notes, read and edit journal entries, monitor progress, and do all the tasks a teacher needs to manage classes. The program is quick and easy to learn – no complicated manuals to read, just point and click."
- Mike Fawcett (178 k)
Technology Teacher (Auburn High School, WA)

MyClassroomHelper was designed by teachers, for teachers to address these issues. Imagine having a simple to use, easy to deploy, affordable classroom management system that was designed to meet the needs of individual teachers – NOT a cookie-cutter solution for the entire district. There are many excellent classroom management software products on the market. However, they tend to be bloated with features, are difficult to use, necessitate excessive training, and require a major financial commitment and/or district deployment. Often, schools tend to over-buy these programs based on “perceived needs” until they find out they just don’t use it, or too difficult and expensive to train their staff.

MyClassroomHelper took feedback from dozens of teachers and created an elegant but simple classroom management software program to address the organizational needs of individual teachers and students. As you will see, we put control back in your hands. Call (253) 848-4758 to try it free.

It’s all about you…

The instructor interface is elegant in its simplicity with a point and click layout and easy to understand icons to direct activity. You can even customize the interface by adding your own logo, changing the colors, and creating web-pages.

The simple interface makes it easy to manage all aspects of your classroom.

· Post assignments, course materials, and projects for the whole class. If students are absent, they can pull the assignment off the internet.

· Monitor student journals to see if students completed and understood their assignments/projects.

· Assign how much disk space each student gets, where the files are located, and the level of access – all with the click of a button.

Easy to Manage - Whether you post or grade assignments, track student progress, mentor individual students or the whole class, the desired action is just a click away.

Student Interface…

The student interface shows how easy it is for students to “manage” their classroom activities.

Students can view all of their work from any class.

Notice how easy it is for students to view assignments, notes, and make entries in their daily journals. Journal entries can include 'thinking' questions, such as:

- What did you learn today?

- How can you apply what you learned?

- What are your goals for tomorrow?

"We use the journal almost every day. Since technology classes can be very complex, it is important that students write down key concepts to help them remember what they have learned. MyClassroomHelper... helps me keep track of what labs or activities my students may have missed."
- Paul Scott (63 k)
Networking Technology Instructor (Sartori Education Center, WA)

Digital Educational Portfolios

An educational portfolio is a collection of student’s work (called artifacts) that documents his or her learning process. While there are many different types of portfolios, one thing they share is the ability for students to post and reflect on their own work. MyClassroomHelper’s built-in portfolio allows students to take a more active role in their learning. It allows them to document their knowledge, reflect on their work, creativity, and personal perspectives, and provide an instrument for teacher-student-parent discussion and feedback on student performance.

This is invaluable for senior projects, college applications, or job resumes. Many states require graduating high school students to create a portfolio, and many foundations recommend it to substantiate their grants.

A local school board member recently commented on the value of MyClassroomHelper's electronic portfolio.

"Every year we have students who can't 'walk the walk' at graduation because of failure to meet their senior project requirements. I see MyClassroomHelper's online portfolio as a repository for student work. There are no surprises, & no excuses. Everyone (Teachers, Mentors, Parents, & Students) can see exactly what is going on."

Don’t forget the parents…

Engaging parents in the educational process is the best way to gain student cooperation and more focused learning. The problem is most parents don’t know what their children are doing at school. For example, here is a typical Parent/Teenager conversation:

Parent - Student communication breakdown

Q: How did School go today?
A: "Fine."

Q: Do you have any homework?
A:
“No.”

Q: What did you learn today?
A:
“Nothing.”

Q: When is your next test?
A: “I don’t know. Why are you asking me all these questions?”

Sound familiar?

The student screen shows parents everything they would want to know about their children’s school performance – assignments, grades, notes, journal entries, and personal portfolio. No phone calls, no e-mails, no letters. It’s a benefit for the parent, the student, and the teacher. Since MyClassroomHelper is a web-based program, it can be viewed wherever there is an Internet connection: school – work – home.
